UAE Minister of Justice Dr Hadef Bin Ju'an Al-Dhaheri issued a ministerial resolution setting up the Shawwal moon-sighting committee for the current Hijri year 1431 to determine the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - UAE Minister of Justice Dr Hadef Bin Ju'an Al-Dhaheri issued a ministerial resolution setting up the Shawwal moon-sighting committee for the current Hijri year 1431 to determine the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

The committee will be chaired by the Minister and its membership includes Sultan Saeed Al-Badi, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Mohammed Hamad Al-Badi, Director General of the Ministry of Justice, Dr Mohammed Mattar Salim Al-Ka'abi, Director General of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf), Dr Farouk Hamada, religious advisor at the court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Mohammed Al-Yadali, mufti at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), judges and others.

ADJD's own moon sighting committee is to continue to collect evidence of sighting the new moon of the Hijri month of Shawwal and is to report findings to the Ministry's committee. A meeting will be held on Wednesday, 8th of September after the maghreb (sunset) prayer at ADJD head office.
